Effective Date: March 9, 2026
1. Data Controller
This Website is operated by Bruno Sant'Anna, an individual developer based in the Netherlands, European Union. For any questions regarding this Cookie Policy or your personal data, please open an issue on the GitHub repository.
2. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your web browser when you visit a website. This policy also covers similar technologies such as localStorage, which stores data locally in your browser. Both are regulated under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC) as implemented in Dutch law (Telecommunicatiewet, Article 11.7a).
3. Legal Basis
We rely on the following legal bases for storing information on your device:
- Strictly necessary cookies: Exempt from consent under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive, as they are essential for providing the service you have requested.
- Non-essential cookies: Set only with your explicit, informed, and freely given consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), obtained via the cookie consent dialog before any non-essential cookies are placed.
4. Cookies and Technologies We Use
The table below lists all cookies and similar technologies used by this Website:
Strictly Necessary (No Consent Required)
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
CookieConsent | Cookie | Stores your cookie consent preference (accepted all or essential only). Required to remember your choice and comply with GDPR consent obligations. | 365 days |
ThemePreference | localStorage | Stores your selected visual theme so the site displays consistently across sessions. No personal data is stored. | Persistent (until cleared) |
DateFormatPreference | localStorage | Stores your preferred date display format (DD/MM/YY, YY/MM/DD, or MM/DD/YY) so dates render consistently across sessions. No personal data is stored. | Persistent (until cleared) |
Non-Essential (Consent Required)
Currently, Quaks does not use any non-essential cookies, analytics trackers, advertising pixels, or third-party tracking technologies. If this changes in the future, this policy will be updated and your consent will be requested before any such technologies are deployed.
5. Third-Party Embedded Content
The Website embeds Kibana dashboards via iframes for displaying financial charts and technical indicators. These embedded dashboards are hosted on infrastructure controlled by the data controller (self-hosted) and may set session cookies necessary for their operation. These cookies are strictly necessary for the embedded content to function and fall under the same legal basis as the essential cookies listed above.
6. Managing Your Preferences
You have the right to manage your cookie preferences at any time:
- Cookie Consent Dialog: Click the "Cookies" link in the footer of any page to reopen the consent dialog and change your preference between "Accept all" and "Reject non-essential."
- Browser Settings: You can delete or block cookies through your browser's privacy settings. You can also clear
localStoragedata. Note that deleting strictly necessary cookies may impair website functionality.
7. Your Rights Under GDPR
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (EU 2016/679), you have the following rights in relation to any personal data processed through cookies or similar technologies:
- Right to withdraw consent (Article 7(3)): You may withdraw your consent at any time by clicking the "Cookies" link in the footer. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
- Right of access (Article 15): You may request confirmation of whether personal data is being processed and access to that data.
- Right to erasure (Article 17): You may request deletion of personal data. For cookies, you can achieve this immediately by clearing your browser data.
- Right to lodge a complaint: If you believe your data protection rights have been violated, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) at autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.
8. Data Retention
Cookie consent preferences are stored for 365 days. Theme and date format preferences persist in your browser's localStorage until you clear them manually. No personal data from cookies is transmitted to or stored on the server.
9. International Transfers
No personal data collected via cookies or similar technologies is transferred outside the European Economic Area (EEA). All infrastructure is self-hosted within the EU.
10. Changes to This Policy
This Cookie Policy may be updated to reflect changes in our use of cookies or applicable legislation. Material changes that affect how we use non-essential cookies will require renewed consent. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
